My aim is to provide my clients with a reliable and high quality work product through a flexible and responsive approach. I offer an effective and economic alternative to large multi-discipline consultancies. Whether clients are looking to use my expertise discretely, or to use me as part of a team of specialists, or to supplement their in-house capability, I am able to adapt to clients’ requirements.
General enquiries about my fees, availability, or how I might be of assistance in a particular matter are always welcome. I am happy to review documents free of charge and obligation to determine if a potential instruction falls within my areas of expertise and to provide a preliminary view.
Basis of charging
I generally charge on the basis of an hourly rate, pro-rated for part hours, and capped at 10 hours per day. I am happy to supply my current rate if you are considering appointing me. I do not charge for travel outside office hours (weekends and Mon-Fri 0800-1800) and I charge time used travelling in office hours at 50%.
I am perfectly willing to consider alternative fee structures such as capped fee, lump sum or retainer. I can provide non-binding estimates of anticipated fees and disbursements, alternatively binding quotations, as required. I do not usually ask for payments on account (although I reserve the right to do so) but I do appreciate prompt payment of my invoices.
I charge disbursements at cost, regardless of the fee structure agreed.
